THE UMBRIA & WINGATE REEF
La nave da carico italiana “Umbria” è affondata il 9 giugno 1940 mentre era in rotta verso l'Africa orientale, un giorno prima che l'Italia entrò in guerra. L'Umbria caricava oltre 300.000 bombe e altro materiale bellico per le truppe italiane. Il motivo del suo destino è un mistero ... alcuni credono che fu affondata dal suo capitano per paura che cadessero nelle mani degli inglesi. Altri sostengono che sia stata attaccata da un sommergibile tedesco. L'Umbria oggi riposa sul lato sinistro ad una profondità di 35 - 40 metri.
SANGANEB
La barriera corallina intorno al famoso faro ha tutto quello che un subacqueo possa desiderare. Erigendosi da una profondità di 800 m offre drop-off, grotte e canyon. In piccole grotte vivono cernie, che con un pizzico di pazienza avrete la possibilità di osservare. La barriera corallina è abitata da innumerevoli animali. Anche i principianti troveranno aree affascinanti appena sotto la superficie dell'acqua. Sanganeb è famosa soprattutto per i suoi " Hammerhead Party", che sono un vero spettacolo. Ma anche pesci più piccoli con i loro colori e le forme spettacolari affascinano i sub.
SHAAB AMBAR
Ambar reef is a large horseshoe shaped reef surrounding a lagoon with vertical outer walls. The lagoon provides a safe haven for liveaboard boats for the night.
SEILADA
SEILADA island here the powder-white sand creates a perfect ground for several species of turtles. At the right time of year you can watch the turtles here, as they slowly crawl out of the sea to lay their eggs. At this site turtles are almost always guaranteed.
PENDER
Pender reef is a small reef with a similar shape as the Nakhalat in el Quseer. Hammerhead sharks are relatively common here, as well as schools of tuna.
PINNACLE
Pinnacle is like a big tower and extends from a depth of about 10 to 12 meters. Here we often have strong currents and this place is a meeting point for hammerhead sharks, gray reef sharks and big tuna. The Sudanese waters always offer good visibility, often crystal clear. The reefs are highly colored with pink, yellow and red soft corals, large colorful anemones and everything is very much alive wherever you look.
